A CLOSER LOOK
In the glass.
At the table.
An imagined wine story, created for our fictional catalog.
Linen & Stone 2024 is our fictional expression of Riesling from Finger Lakes. Its tasting profile starts with apricot, lime, slate. The imagined producer, Linen & Stone Cellars, works toward a wine that feels at home with food: expressive on the first pour, then more detailed as it settles into the glass. This bottle gives the collection a distinct starting point without asking you to commit your whole case to one style.
The palate is framed by fresh acidity, with a little breadth through the middle rather than an overtly rich finish. Fruit and floral impressions sit alongside a gentle mineral note. As the chill leaves the glass, the texture becomes more apparent and the quieter aromas have room to emerge.
The fictional cellar program combines temperature-controlled fermentation with time on fine lees. Neutral vessels keep the focus on fruit, while occasional lees stirring adds texture. This is a style imagined around clarity and a clean finish, with the winemaking supporting the character of the grape.
Begin with a light chill and let the bottle warm gradually at the table. Spring vegetables, lemon-dressed grains and a simple roast chicken are useful pairing ideas. Avoid serving it ice cold: a little warmth allows the fruit and subtle savory notes to feel more complete.
